A Little Bit of Peterborough Cathedral – June 2024

We were recently at Peterborough Cathedral for a Summer Craft & Gift Market. Although we prefer the countryside and rural locations for walks and taking pictures, the cathedral is something else in terms of art and engineering and workmanship in stone, wood and glass…

So here’s some pictures, in no particular order of impoirtance, to show how lovely the place is. Note that photography doesn’t do it justice! Go and see it for yourselves.

  1. That’s very beautiful, Aidan. Glorious architecture. It is still awe inspiring to think this magnificence was built so many centuries ago. The cost in life was awful, but the skills those craftsmen had were superb.

  2. I have mixed feelings as it’s about power and suppression as much as (if not more so) than about inspiration and art and belief. I still think it’s beautiful and inspiring and I feel lucky to have experienced it.
